Alexander McQueen hearts the Midwest..well, he knows we exist.

McQueen for Target Target announced last week their new Go International collaboration will be with none other than Alexander McQueen (save the applause).

McQueen said of his upcoming capsule, "I always liked the idea of people in the Midwest wearing my clothes. The idea of this upstart from London going where people haven't heard of me, I think that was interesting to me. I think it's quite adventurous of Target."

Oh, we know you Mr. McQueen. And we have a couple of things up our sleeves as well.

Designing the Hardway

Phizza'z 3-way tunics, Photography: Joe Brankse Phizza'z Halter Dress,Photography: Joe Brankse As a high-school freshman, Tiffany Hardaway preferred sewing her own outfits to trips to the mall. She explored innovation and tested the water on how to design apparel. She took innovation to school when she attended the International Academy of Design and Technology (IADT). While attending IADT, she was selected as one of the 13 citywide finalists to participate in the Fashion Group International (FGI) scholarship program.

Inspired by sustainability and texture, Tiffany Hardaway created her line Phizza'z Design in 2006. Since then, she was selected as one of AIBI's Chicago is Red..HOT! emerging designers of 2008.

Versatile pieces are pretty incredible, especially during tough economic times. Tiffany has figured this out and created pieces like her 3-way tunic that can be worn, well..3-ways.

Phizza'z Designs can be found at Andersonville Galleria on Clark and Foster and they will be launching their Spring 09' line at www.studio-808.com, this month.

New Website to Love: TwentyThirtyForty.net

TwentyThirtyForty There's something amazing about a great online boutique. Avoid the lines, avoid that one sales girl and just shop. And when you love the same line as the buyer, the love affair is complete. But after that, most sites leave you overflowing your cart, confused what will go with what. It's time to check out TwentyThirtyForty.net. Aside from their impeccable collection including my personal favorite, the Opening Ceremony Classic Flare Coat, this site shows you what's cool and how to wear it. From different types of belts to tights or leggings, TwentyThirtyForty.net will show you how to get the most wears out of your new piece. And if you are totally overwhelmed over if you should wear that new mini to work, shoot them an email! Now that is what is called accessible style.

A Website Spotlight: Chicago Picks

Chicago Picks Logo This resourceful website has been put together by some cool ladies, who aside from being witty and silly, most importantly have a great eye for style and know where to find it in Chicago. Sister site to Seattle Picks, Phoenix Picks and various others, this is how it works: the ladies pick out designers, boutiques and events they know the well-dressed of Chicago will be interested in. There are Chicago Picks for new things going on in the city, Chick Picks for us women who want to know about cool new threads and Hip Happenings, giving us the 411 on what is going on around the city that week. Each issue comes out on Friday. Our friends over at Chicago Picks really seem to have their nose to the runway filtering through Chicago fashion to find you the best of the best, until the next week when they find something even better.
